River cruising on Viking is very inclusive. From the Viking rep that meets you at the airport to embarkation and settling into your stateroom, everything is taken care of for you. International cuisine is included for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beer, wine and sodas are inclusive with meals. And there is a very reasonable unlimited bar package available for those that want to partake in a wider variety of beverages. Shipboard evenings include light entertainment and a chance to mingle with newly-made friends. The age range on Viking tends to run 50+ but adults of any age are welcome to join in the experience.

It really depends upon your budget and the itinerary. Even the lowest category staterooms have a partial window view. However, most of our clients opt for a French Balcony or full balcony to enjoy the fresh air and take in the scenery. Our Viking Experts will work with you to match the perfect accommodations to your style and budget.
Does Viking have Christmas Market cruises?
Yes!! The Christmas Market cruises are a fabulous way to see how the world celebrates the festive season! Visiting the charming small towns of Europe on the Rhine, Danube, Seine and Elbe is a magical experience. From colorfully-lit markets to cobblestone streets teeming with vendors, carolers and the like, you’ll be transported into a Christmas wonderland like no other.
What are some tips on booking a Viking River Cruise?

Having some flexibility with your dates is best when considering a Viking River Cruise. Since Viking sells out months in advance, we recommend booking at least 6 months in advance if possible.
For Europe, the best deals are in the off season but the weather may be a deterrent for some. If you enjoy cooler weather, March is a great time to book a deal. May and September are also better options for Europe.
Tulip season in Amsterdam is best in mid-April to mid-May.
Late November to December is the Christmas Markets season. Yes, the weather is similar to our winter season here in Kentucky.
For the Nile, it’s best to travel in April or October for more pleasant weather.
We recommend the Silver Spirits package add-on for anyone that prefers cocktails over beer and wine. The cost is very reasonable in comparison to ocean cruising.
